Spanish Primera Liga round up as Sevilla go top

Sevilla took advantage of Barcelonas absence at the Club World Cup to reclaim top spot in the Primera Liga with a 3-1 win at Recreativo Huelva on Sunday.

A disputed Luis Fabiano penalty, a 12th goal of the season from in-form striker Frederic Kanoute and a sharp finish by young winger Jesus Navas secured the UEFA Cup winners their 11th victory of the season.

The win left Juande Ramoss side top with 34 points from 15 games, one more than Barca who have a game in hand and five clear of Real Madrid who play Espanyol later on Sunday.

Real Sociedad finally chalked up their first victory this season with a thrilling 3-2 success at home to fellow strugglers Gimnastic Tarragona who replace them at the foot of the table.

Osasuna continued their revival with a crushing 4-1 win at Villarreal that extended their winning streak to four.

I hope Sevilla can win La Liga, I think Barcelona are playing on christmas eve though.
