vCash: 379 | La Liga week 37 Real Madrid virtually secured another Spanish championship yesterday as the title race was completely turned on it's head in 2 dramatic minutes. With 88 mins on the clock in yesterdays games , Barca led Espanyol 2-1 at the Camp Nou whilst Real Madrid trailled 2-1 in Zaragoza , that would have left Barca 3 points clear & almost certain champions. On 89 mins Ruud Van Nistlerooy struck to draw Madrid level at 2-2 , then on 90 mins Raul Tamudo equalised in the Catalan derby , both games finished 2-2 leaving Real & Barca level on 73 points ,Madrid still hold the advantage on head to head results between the 2 this season. Sevilla missed the chance to draw level at the top as they were held goaless at Real Mallorca leaving them 2 points behind on 71pts.Technically they could still win the title butonly if Real Madrid & Barcelona both lose next week. Top of the table 1st Real Madrid 73 pts, 2nd Barcelona 73, 3rd Sevilla 71 Remaining fixtures Gimnastic v Barcelona Real Madrid v Real Mallorca Sevilla v Villarreal Real Madrid need only to match Barcelona's result to win the title. At the bottom of the table Celta Vigo gave themselves a chance of survival with a 3-2 win against Athletico Madrid , Real Betis look in trouble after they lost 5-0 at home to Osasuna. Real Sociadad look doomed following a 0-0 draw with Racing Santander , Athletic Bilbao could yet be relegated after they lost 3-1 at Villarreal. Gimnastic are already relegated. Bottom of the table 16th, Real Betis 37 pts, 17th, Athletic Bilbao 37, 18th Celta Vigo 36, 19th Real Sociadad 34, 20th Gimnastic 25. Remaining Fixtures Athletic Bilbao v Levante Celta Vigo v Getafe Racing Santander v Real Betis Valencia v Real Sociadad Looking at those fixtures I think it's Adios to Betis & Sociadad. Good to see excitment at both ends of the table going into the final day of the season. |

vCash: 500 | "Good to see excitment at both ends of the table going into the final day of the season." The La Liga is so much better than the Epl, Why do people constantly say "The Epl is the mint of football" when it is so much more interesting to watch Spanish football with all the dribbling and scissors kicks. |

vCash: 379 | It depends what you enjoy really , the epl is played at a faster pace , lots of Enlish fans find european football boring because it is more technical and the biuld up play tends to be slower . I would say the standard at the top end is possibly higher in Spain but the standard throughout all 20 teams in the league is higher in England. But there's no denying the title race is a lot closer in Spain this year than it was in England. |
