Carling Cup draw: Liverpool return for Fowler

Robbie Fowler is set for a quick return to Anfield after his Cardiff side were drawn at Liverpool in the fourth round of the Carling Cup.

The 32-year-old left the Merseyside club for the second time at the end of last season when he was not offered a new contract by manager Rafael Benitez, but he remains massively popular among the Reds faithful.

Cardiff won the race for his signature and he has scored four goals in five starts for the Bluebirds, including a brace in their midweek Carling Cup win over West Brom.

Coventry, who sensationally sent Manchester United crashing out of the competition at Old Trafford this week, are rewarded with a home draw against Premier League West Ham.

Of the three other Coca-Cola Championship sides left in the cup, Leicester have perhaps the toughest task after being drawn at Chelsea, 4-0 victors over Hull on Wednesday.

Sheffield United's assignment is only marginally less testing with Arsene Wenger's precocious Arsenal youngsters the visitors to Bramall Lane.

Blackpool travel to face Tottenham, while League One Luton, who dispatched Charlton this week, host top flight Everton at Kenilworth Road.

The remaining two ties are both all-Premier League affairs as Portsmouth entertain Blackburn and Sven-Goran Eriksson's Manchester City make the short journey to the Reebok Stadium to take on Bolton.

All the matches are scheduled for the week of October 29.

Luton v Everton
Portsmouth v Blackburn
Chelsea v Leicester
Sheff Utd v Arsenal
Tottenham v Blackpool
Bolton v Man City
Coventry v West Ham
Liverpool v Cardiff
