Moyes Waiting On Pienaar Decision

Everton manager David Moyes has put his decision on Steven Pienaar’s future on hold for the time being.

The South African, who is on a season long loan from Borussia Dortmund, has impressed this season on the left hand side of midfield for Everton.

He is reportedly keen to stay with the Toffee’s where he has settled well and has made 15 appearances so far.

However, he showed his inexperience against Manchester United on Saturday when he clumsily brought down Ryan Giggs in the closing stages.

The resulting spot kick was coolly converted by Ronaldo and gifted the Red Devil’s an early Christmas present in a 2-1 win.

Despite this Moyes has been happy with the young player’s development, but will not be rushed on a decision regarding his future.

"We will not discuss it yet," said Moyes on Sky Sports News. "I've always said we will wait until the end of the season and it will remain that way."

Moyes is reluctant to dwell on Pienaar’s costly error, instead he is looking to focus on the positive impact he has made so far at Goodison Park.

He said: "I don't want to draw too much attention to it. We know what he's done, I can't hide it, I can't turn round and say I didn't see it or it wasn't his fault.

"I've been straight up, but I have also got to say how well he has played this season and how well he has done, so we move on now."
