Reading will be without midfielder Brynjar Gunnarsson for the trip to Tottenham.

The Iceland international begins a three-match ban following his sending-off at West Ham on Boxing Day.

Manager Steve Coppell has no new injury worries but is still without wingers John Oster (ankle) and Glen Little (heel).

Tottenham skipper Ledley King, meanwhile, wants his side to build in on their Boxing Day demolition of Fulham.

King made his first appearance of the season in the 5-1 win against managerless Fulham, with Spurs recovering after a poor start to the season.

"We've been on a good run and we want to keep that going," said Spurs skipper King.

"Coming off a 5-1 win, we'll be confident but we know we have to do the right things to get a result against Reading."
