Shearer shadow over Allardyce

UNDER-pressure Newcastle manager Sam Allardyce is having player trouble, but in this case it's a player he didn't even manage at the club, as he continues to shrug off speculation he is set to be replaced by Geordie legend Alan Shearer, who retired 18 months ago but whose shadow looms large over the club.
Allardyce has come in for increasing flak since taking over a St James' Park in the summer, a poor run of performances prompting some fans to call for his head.

He was given a vote of confidence by chairman Chris Mort, who laughed off rumours that owner Mike Ashley was considering sacking the 52-year-old.

Allardyce said: "I do not have any worries or concerns as far as they (Mort and Ashley] are concerned.

"The pressure that has been put on them as well as me, they understand it is outside influences trying to exert pressure on them. It is all part of the game."

Asked if he felt Shearer was casting a shadow over him, he said: "It has always been there and it always will be."

Shearer needs to come out and give his support to Sam or through in his bid for the job. Shearer being silent about the situation is not helping newcastle. I dont think he is ready for the big job anyway he needs to cut his teeth at lower level club like Spurs ' Only Joking'.

The above sites are Shearer's are they ??

I think Keegan needs to get him on board asap, even thought for me he'd be useless. If things don't go right for Keegan he'll need allies especially Shearer.

If all else fails there's always Chang
