Super Bore Sunday

The hype before the big two games of the season was enormous.

Chelsea with all the world class players that they have should be able to put on a better show than what was on offer yesterday. Mourinho has installed tactics that help Chelsea win every game but is it possible to get the best plasyers in the world to try and entertain us a little? Is that too much to ask?

Then Old Trafford. Man Utd could hardly put 3 passes together and Arsenal deserved to win 3-0. Out of the two games Arsenal had to be the most attack minded team, trying to play football at every opportunity but again I felt short changed and a stale boring game was served up.

These are the best teams that are on offer and I was left unimpressed. Looking at the quality of the games on offer from La Liga I for one will be watching any Spanish games over Premiership ones from now on.

Bloody waste of my time!

I thought the games were OK. But I did think that the teams were probably more scared of losing than actually wanting to win.

Chelsea are the main clulprits in the lack of entertainment, with the team that they have they just don't seem to have clicked together yet.

But could it be Mourinho's tactics?

While Chelsea were boring, Liverpool could put anyone to sleep. Long ball after long ball.

I think the Utd Vs Arse game weren't as bad, at least it was more open and entertaining with alot more chances at either end.

watched the celsea - bremen game; outcome i was bored. I then watched the chelsea- liverpool game; bored. A team with players like this should have no need to be so defensive. These players should be allowed to express themselves and try and get as many goals as possible.

the man u game was alright. I thought Arsenal played really them well anddesrved the win. If they would only just learn that after you pass the ball about for half an hour its a good idea to try and get it in the fecking net they would be top of the table.

the man u vs arsenal match i really liked to be honest but yes i get bored sometimes and instead of watching matches i just watch match of the day for the highlights

I think if you took the big four out of the premiership it would be a very competitive and entertaining league , now it's too predictable.

i think football all around europe is having the same problem since the Champions League offer prize money and TV deals that make strong clubs become stronger and weak clubs become weaker, unless being bought up by a man like Roman Abramovic.

I agree,what used to separate the English league from the rest is that virtually every major league is dominated by 2,3 or 4 teams but now the EPL has gone the same way.

what is the problem with you guys. its that scottish/english thingy again isnt it? you jocks have no hope in hell of having an entertaining league when its always one of two for the league every boring season. talk some more when hearts,aberdeen or even hibs give you celtic and rangers muppets a run for your money

how can you call yourself a football fan if you get bored with football? Man United,Chelsea,Arsenal and Liverpool are the top clubs in the english prem and do not want to give up their individual place amongst the greats of the english game. some games are a drag,yeah,but the players cant be expected to play out of their skin everytime they have a game. when it comes to vital games,points are sometimes more important than the gameplay...live with it. PS Arsenal are simply awesome to watch when they are on form...so dont get bored...watch this space!

Muppets? You are kidding right?

Did you watch the games that we were talking about? They were poor. The Man Utd - Arsenal game was better than the Chelsea Liverpool encounter which to be honest was boring. That was the point I was making - the best team in the league plays boring football.

It has nothing to do with England V Scotland, Scotland can't compete by buying £30M strikers and the like. I am a football fan first and foremost. I don't support any particular team in 'your' league but when I watch I want to be entertained, that is what we all pay our money for.

I could say something nasty back but in all honesty I don't know if your are all there up top.

not even going to allow you to make this scotland/england thing because it would be a shame for the other english guys this site on this site to be tarred with the same brush as yourself. This thread as KOK has added was about the fact that people like to talk the the prem up and some of the games billed as 'classics' end up being dissappointments. You state that the scots premier leaugue is s*** because there is no competition? when was the last time there more than a 2 horse race in the prem. The scots prem is **** because of the level of football played and i will admit this.

As for the whole 'what kind of football fan are you' thing because someone can see that a game of football can be boring. This for me is the simply deciding whether a game of football has good quality in it or not. do you watch every premiership without forming an opinion. are you one of these plonkers that simply lets sky sports news decide what you think about football.

at the end of the day when you strip away all the window dressing and hype the Prem is not the best league in terms of quality of football played. In my opinion when watching a game as a neutral, lal Liga is the best in terms of quality. Sky are the masters of hype and marketing and do extremely well selling a product that at best is just above average.
