Tottenham Hotspur have been dealt a further injury blow with coach Martin Jol confirming that striker Dimitar Berbatov could be sidelined for a further fortnight.

Spurs have got more than enough cover with Keane, Mido & Defoe. It is unfortunate for hime though as trying to settle into a new team is difficult even without injury troubles

Defoe is a great player, it is just that Defoe and Keane don't play well together, they are too similar for me. They would be better with a strong target man to play off - Crouch, Hessilink, Nistellrooy etc.

I don;t think hes a bad player. He's in a bit of a slump really but when he played internationally recently he has been in sh*t hot form it's just Jol cannot promise him a run in the team so his head drops

He is a striker at one of the biggest clubs in England, there will always be competition. It is really up to Defoe to make sure Jol can't pick the team without him.

To get a game he needs to perform. Defoe strikes me as a type of guy who is not willing to take a step down in clubs, if he only goes upwards his performances have to improve to have any chance of being picked.

ok yes he does need to get his scoring record gowing for me hes a bit like ibrahimovic rated very highly by managers but sometimes doesnt perform
