Blackburn have completed the signing of Paul Robinson in a £3.5 million deal, in my opinion this is a good move for Robinson and hopefully he can fight his way back into the England setup. With Brad Friedel almost certainly on his way to Aston Villa, Robinson will be guaranteed first team football and at £3.5 million (Bargain for a player who is world class on his day) I think it is a good deal, also a good first signing for Paul Ince.

Bit of a strange one for me i always thought Friedel was one of the better keepers in the premier league , but hopefully Robinson will be able to rebuild his confidence at a new club.

Can't understand why Blackburn want to let Friedel go. The man is a beast! He could play till 41 I reckon, the guys an athlete! Great signing for Aston Villa though

Blackburn didn't want to let him go. It was a case of Friedle wanting the move. IMO, Blackburn did well out of this to sign an England international goalie who, at 28, is still to hit his prime. Friedle, at best is after one last swansong plus I imagine a bigger pay packet at Villa.

I saw a lot of Robinson last year and basically his confidence was shot, he was badly managed and a change is what he needed. He has all the qualities and at the money Blackburn paid was a steal. Never mind Gomez looks good albeit a bit of a clown an interesting season to come.

Friedel is so much better than Robbo, Robbo is an accident waiting to happen, gonna have to totally restore his confidence to get him any good.
