Cech signs new deal.

Petr Cech has pledged his future to Chelsea by signing a new deal at Stamford Bridge.
The Czech Republic goalkeeper has proved to be a pivotal figure for Jose Mourinho since arriving at Stamford Bridge in the summer of 2004, with his efforts helping The Blues lift the Premiership title last term.

Cech conceded just 15 goals in last season's title romp and he has carried the form into this campaign.

He has kept the impressive Italian Carlo Cudicini in the shade and has been rewarded for his efforts with a new deal which ties him to the club until the summer of 2010.

Cudicini recently signed a new deal himself and with Cech following suit, Mourinho has ensured he has the goalkeeping situation at Stamford Bridge in safe hands for the foreseeable future.
"I am very pleased," Cech, 23, told the club's website.

"When I joined Chelsea I just wanted to get in the team and win some trophies.
"I managed that last season and have been rewarded with a new contract already. Now I want to win some more trophies."

Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon added: "We are obviously delighted that Petr has committed to Chelsea for another two years until 2010.

"He had a fantastic season in his first year and established himself as one of the top goalkeepers in the world.

"It was always our intention to keep him for longer than his initial contract as he has a key role to play in the long-term development and success of the team."

Good keeper in my opinion!
