vCash: 500 | Who will get relegated? In The Premiership, who do you think will go down this season? With the bottom of the Table very tight anyone couls slip up or win matches to stay up or be relegated. To check the table visit: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/table/default.stm Look at 18th and 7th, there is 13 points between 7th and Relegation zone. Close eh? I think Watford, Charlton and Sheffield Utd will be relegated. What does everyone else think? I'd put my house on Watford going down. They don't have the name to attract players where teams like West Ham do, even when in trouble. I'm actually amazed that Wigan have slipped so low, but I would still fancy them to be clear of that zone come March time. I think it's between Charlton, West Ham and Sheffield United, and I can see West Ham doing well enough in the transfer market (and if they get Ashton back and scoring) to pull above Sheffield. So Sheffield United, Charlton and Watford. -Ronaldinho |

vCash: 500 | Can't get my breath, it's oreight asking the question on who'll go down but some of the answers are child like, unresearched, utter garbage. I quote Paul B, he says that the Blades are to sell top scorer Horsfield, the truth is that Horsfield has never played for the Blades, never mind scored, Hulse is the top scorer and playing magnificent. He says the Blades have no money, well up to today they have signed no less than 5 players in the transfer window, John Stead for £750,000 rising to £1.25m if we don't go down which is an absolute snip, we've signed the best defender outside the premiership in Mat Killgallon from leeds for £1.75m rising to £2.25m. Signed Jamaican international striker Luton Shelton from Helsinborgs for £2m, signed Mahamood Sek who is a Senagalese international defender from french club, on bosman free, signed Egyptian international midfielder Fahti from egyptian club, age 22, 40 caps already. Furthermore the Blades have done most of that with the proceeds of incoming transfer fees having sold/let go 4 players for over £2.5m, and yet to encroach on the £7m that Neil still has to spend. So the Blades to go down I don't think so, they'll finish about 14th, the 3 to go down will be watford-charlton-wigan or perhaps one from boro-man city- or fulham-or westham. |

Apologies over the Horsefield/Hulse gaff. Got the wrong former player. As for everything else i wrote i think its pretty fair. Compared to West Ham (4m bid for Upson rejected. 9.25m bid for Young rejected. Davenport undisclosed fee) Sheffield United don't have as much cash. The buys you have listed above are mostly investment in the future. Killgallon was a really good buy especially for the price and can play at Premiership level but i'm not sure about the rest. I never said Blades didn't have any money, and there's more to buying players than just their transfer fees. Wages are a big issue in any transfer and i didn't think that Sheffield United, Charlton and Watford had the wage budget. As for being unresearched utter garbage, you're probably right. But since i'm writing an opinion not an newspaper article i'm not required to be factually accurate. In fact i thought we were having a discussion, and your response to my post, in my opinion has encouraged some debate about the issue. I stand corrected (again). ![]()

vCash: 500 | It doesn't invalidate my point though. Sheffield United really could do with a good striker as if they can start scoring more goals then they could avoid the drop. But with a good striker, like Nugent for example, comes a high transfer fee and probably high wages too. I don't think Sheffield United have the cash to do that? I know they had a 6m bid rejected for Nugent but are they still in a position to pay that kind of money? Would his wages cause them problems? Maybe Nobby the Blademan can shed some light on that. Sheffield could very well stay up, Killgallon is a good signing not sure Stead is as his form for the last couple of seasons hasn't been great (2 goals in 39 appearances) and i get the feeling that if there were good things to come from him Keane would've held onto him. As for the other signings i don't really know enough about them to change my opinion of Sheffields fate. Hopefully Nobby the Blademan will reply and help me out. |

It does make your point valid because you were comparing the deals that WH have been making to that which Sheffield United have been comparing and, at the moment, they are two very different football clubs in financially.

vCash: 379 | West Ham Charlton Watford West Ham do have money to spend but seem to be having trouble attracting any decent players and time is running out so do they start panic buying or stick with what they have now, either way I think we are doomed. If you look at the statistics they are frightening old Watford have scored less goals than us ( and they've played 2 less games) only Charlton have conceded more our goal difference is appauling and it seems we can't buy a win right now. I fully expect us to get thrashed at ST James' today even more so after Newcastle's embarrasement during the week. |

vCash: 379 | It's good to see we finaly started scoring some goals but it won't do us anygood if we can't stop conceeding, thats the second week running we have thrown away a lead and they are saying we were unlucky but you can't just put it down to luck, I don't see us winning a match any time soon. |

I was sorry to see Davenport go he was a good player and would of been a regular starter if it was not for the fact we already had two fo the best CB's in the Prem.

vCash: 379 | But do you think he can really cut it in the prem after all he has spent most of his time as a spurs player on loan to championship teams. |

vCash: 500 | Any chance of Nobby the Blademan posting why he thinks Sheffield United will stay up? It was fair enough getting on my case about the Horsefield/Hulse gaff but he didn't answer the original post and i'm genuinely intrested in knowing why he thinks they'll stay up? Anybody else out there think Sheffield United will stay up? If so why please? |
