Doyle may start for Reading

Reading will monitor the fitness of striker Kevin Doyle ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup fifth round trip to Manchester United.

Doyle has almost recovered from the hamstring problem which has sidelined him for more than a month and manager Steve Coppell, who intends to play fringe players at Old Trafford, will make a late decision on the Wexford man.

Coppell has no other injury worries but new signings Michael Duberry and Greg Halford are both cup-tied.

Provisional squad: Federici, Hahnemann, de la Cruz, Murty, Ingimarsson, Bikey, Sodje, Shorey, Seol, Oster, Gunnarsson, Convey, Lita, Kitson, Long, Doyle, Hunt, Harper, Sidwell, Little.
