Hilario Signs For Chelsea

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has confirmed that Chelsea are set to sign 30 year old Portuguese goalkeeper Hilario on a Bosman

Hilario signs for Chelsea on a Bosman free transfer after his current deal with Madeiran outfit Nacional runs out later this summer.

Mourinho worked with the goalkeeper when he was in charge of Porto and has a deep admiration for the player’s skills. He believes that his arrival will provide great competition for Petr Cech and Carlo Cudicini.

"I know that Hilario is intelligent and will help ensure that Chelsea, at the moment, have the best goalkeepers in the world," Mourinho explained.

"I have worked with him and think he has the perfect characteristics to integrate with our squad.

"He's very intelligent, perhaps more so than the majority of players, so to add this characteristic makes good sense."

Mourinho was also quick to quash the claims made by media earlier in the week that he will be signing the Portuguese stars Simao and Quaresma.
The Portuguese manager has stated publicly his admiration for the duo and and realises that this admiration may have led to the speculation that followed. However, he is adamant that he has enough wide men already in his Chelsea squad.

"Perhaps I'm to blame for this news story," Mourinho added.

"I said that Simao is a player that any coach would like to have.”

"But it's difficult for Chelsea to be interested in any winger because we already have players like Duff, Joe Cole and Robben in our squad."

Please now children, lets not just start mouthing off at how funny this transfer is BUT what does he need another keeper for???

Is he desperate to win the Premiership AND the reserve title next season - Is that total domination?
