FA Seek FIFA Advice Arsenal Investigation

It seems as though the FA will be seeking advice from FIFA after they Arsenal have been found giving secret payments to Belgian side Beveren.

The money was found after an investigation on the Belgian club revealed a major payment of £1M was made from the Highbury side.

The information was revealed on last night's Newsnight program.

FIFA have responded by informing the Belgian and English football associations that they must investigate the relationship between the two clubs.

Arsenal have responded by stating that there was a relationship with Beveren on a football basis only although they loaned the club £1M in 2001 to stabilise the Belgian side.

The investigation was initially thought to be in the domain of FIFA but the ruling body's Director of Communications Markus Siegler has told the relevant FAs to investigate the claims first.

Siegler commented, "According to the structure of the rules which are in place the FA will have to look into that matter".

The English FA responded with the statement, "We will assist FIFA and await formal communication from them and clarification on whether the allegations relate to possible breaches of FIFA's rules."

Meanwhile Arsenal released the statement, "We can confirm that we had a technical relationship with Beveren since 2001."

Storm in a tea cup this one. Can't remember any big transfers or matches between the 2 clubs.

If its a loan then they have to pay it back.

If its for something else then tell us what Arsenal.

Dodgy payments have always existed just someone noticed this one. What about all the back handers to managers and the slice taken by agents.

The Agents are taking the mick with ridiculous sums for hardly any work. Money for old rope iff you ask me.........

All because the lady loves......
