vCash: 480 | Gallagher jokes about buying out city Lifelong Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher is ready to make a cut-price bid for the stricken Premiership club. A potential takeover by Thai prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra hit the rocks this week and the Oasis rocker claims he could save managerless City by teaming up with M People founder Mike Pickering. "We haven't got a manager, we've only got half a team and we haven't sold any season tickets, Brilliant," Gallagher told the Daily Star. "I'm thinking of mounting a hostile takeover. I reckon we could scrape together about 400,000 in cash and I reckon we could get it for that." |

vCash: 465 | what's wrong with a lifelong fan buying the club they have supported all thir life, at least they won't run it as a way of making money as most takeovers seem to be about. Just look at sunderland, going into administration brought by a fan and ex player and are now going to challenge newcastle and boro for bragging rights in the north east |

vCash: 465 | wether he can or can't afford it, the fact he has joked about it shows that he is loyal to the club he has supported all his life, unlike some fans who jump from bandwagon to the next, also it would be nice to see some homegrown investors as more clubs seem to be coming under foreign ownership, 75% of the top four is foreign owned and it seems that man city and birmingham are looking to follow the trend. ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Anyway your supposed to pass a "fit & proper person" test to see if you've got any dodgy money or mentally insane. That rules Noel out in both cases. | |

vCash: 465 | you could ask that question about any of past and future takeovers as i doubt glazier and gillett are man u and liverpool fans and i'd be amazed if the thai prime minister is a man city fan and if the criteria is a fit and proper person how's he been allowed ot buy them anyone who appoints sven as manager needs shooting |

vCash: 500 | money talks...whether Thaksin's money is clean or not is immeterial. If a dodgy russian can buy Chelsea & not tell how he got his money then anyone can take over... as for the American guys... why did they bother? I don't think they've got serious money |
