Uefa cup semi finals

Tonights semi final 1st leg results

Espanyol 3-0 Werder Bremen
Osasuna 1-0 Sevilla

Suprising scores there , especially the first one, I thought Werder would win the cup but they are all but out already , apparently their goalie was sent off as well . Espanyol are proving to be the real suprise packet in this tornament after they put out another of the favourites Benfica in the last round.

Osasuna's win is less spectacular but as Sevilla failed to register an away goal and may be more interrested in La Liga, I would make Osasina favourites to progress now.

That would make a Espanyol v Osasuna final , you would of got good odds on that a few months ago.

Not necessarily , in fact often when you have 2 big names in a final it turns into a bore fest , I think 2 lesser known clubs could put on a great final

2nd leg results

Sevilla 2-0 Osasuna (agg 2-1)
Werder Bremen 1-2 Espanyol (agg 1-5)

So Sevilla will be at Hampden Park in a few weeks time to defend their Uefa cup crown , I'm pretty sure no team has ever successfully defended the Uefa cup so they are out to make history.

Their opponents will be fellow Spaniards Espanyol who won 2-1 in Bremen tonight to complete a 5-1 aggregate victory . Werder got off to a great start tonight taking the lead on 4 mins but that was as good as it got and 2 second half goals saw Espanyol safely home.

Sevilla will obviously be big favourites , but Espanyol have seen off Benfica & Werder Bremen in the last 2 rounds so they are not without a chance.

Not sure how he did at Spurs but at West Ham Kanute was a very frustrating player hugely talented but the laziest player I have ever seen.
